If you smell gas, then you have a leak and leaking gasoline is a serious issue. Normally the first thing you'll find is the fuel filter quick disconnects are leaking. The filter is locater right above the exhaust pipes on the left side rear area up high. The second location of problems is the fuel crossover tube between the tanks. This is the larger filler line. It becomes twisted and will crack, plus is a PITA to get access too.
