oil pump swap
when R&R the oil pump do i have to drop the oil pan?
ive done some reading and some say yes, some say no.
I have a 2002 with a 2 peice oil pan.... do i have to drop the upper pan (attached to block) or can i just drop the lower pan?

You do not have to drop the pan, I just did this R&R on my 99FRC. I also ported my own Melling stock volume and pressure pump. I added 1 washer shim, this increased my oil pressure to 35 PSI idling hot from ~25PSI. Look at your timing chain for loose chain conditions while your in there, most on the forum are OK with some slack, I choose a roll master single roller setup and removed all the slack.
