On the trunk release/fog light switch I've found a wire that responds to the light/dimmer except its backwards. That is, when the interior lights are at full intensity the voltage reads low and when the interior lights are at minimum intensity the voltage reads high. The result is that the gauges illuminate opposite than the other interior gauges if I tap into this wire. Why the heck would this be reverse?
When I did my stereo I ran the dimmer off of the HVAC controls. There is a beige wire there that you can tap into although that may be a bit further than you want to run it.
Nope. This forum is loaded with plenty of guys that don't have a clue what they are doing.....
I hope you didn't take my humor the wrong way...thats why I added the emoticons. .
Seriously, the wife is getting tired of me consuming 3 garage stalls with my latest series of mods. Getting desperate here . You'll understand when/if you start modding your car.
Not too comfy with the electrical stuff...makes me nervous...too easy to screw something up.
Does anyone know if all the dimmer power type wires are going to have the same behavior as the trunk/fog switch/harness? That is, provide low voltage when dimmer switch at max and high voltage when dimmer switch at min?
