Some of the smog stations don't use the feeler in the exhaust pipe, but use the computer read out on the car. I would give Andy at A&A (forum vendor in Oxnard, Ca.) an e-mail and see what he says.

as long as you dont have a bigger cam than what came stock in your z06, your cats are brand new (and nice and warmend up when the sniffer goes in), new air filter and fresh oil you should be A OK

i just caught that you bought used cats not new cats,,, hmmm..... as long as the cats are good you should still be ok... just make sure the engine and exhaust are nice and warm

GM OEM cats are really efficient. If you have them properly warm and your tune is in good shape,, you will be GOLDEN! Do you know what your Long Term Fuel Trims are reading at idle and closed loop steady state cruise???

i have an frc and they are from an z06 with around 40k i just changed my oil with in 2k.. it might be time for a tune up eventually but it doesnt run that bad.
i dont know anything about smog but when it was idle the number was in the double digits i dont remember. but when he reved it to 2k rpm it was around 300 was the number. not sure the measurement is. the guy i went too didnt even know i had headers and he even took off my engine plastics. he still was fine with it.

I doubt you will be able to weld them on and keep the OEM cats within the floorpan recess area and maintain the necessary ground clearance. It's only a matter of time before you come across a technician that knows long tube headers are not CARB approved.

I recently bought some used cats from someone here to replace my super high mileage ones on my '99. I stopped at more than one muffler shop only to be told its against federal law to put on "used" cats, so they won't do the job.

im going to a weld shop not a muffler shop. i always legally smogged my car and have never once had the shop put my car on a lift. my car is to low just to look under the car and see the cats. where im from a lot of the smog shops are pretty chill. they just want to see it pass emissions
