Default Please help! :) Memory malfunction!!! Memory seat and mirror problem

Need real and objective solutions guys and gals.

I know I share the same problem with other C5 owners, but has anyone actually found a solution???

When I use my key fob to unlock my door(s) the mirrir and seat adjust to an extremely out of whack position.

Is this simply a faulty door module? Maybe a seat module? Driver door switch? Something else???

I have replaced the driver door module with a used unit from a forum member. I did this before having memory issues, as I had a problem with the passanger side door lock. Everything worked great for many many miles. That module could be bad of course.

I have unplugged the switch on the driver door and used the key fob, and still had the problem. (That was just a stab in the dark that the switch itself could be an issue).

I have even unplugged the connector for the driver seat module, and still had issues (mirror only, as the seat was unplugged).

My guess is that it is just the driver door module needing replaced or programmed. But I wanted your guys' help.

Oh yeah, one last thing, I do have issues with the driver seat not always moving forward. Kinda like the relay in the seat module is faulty.

Thanks guys.

Pull your codes from the DTC. Also check to make sure that your key Fobs have a (1) and (2) on the back of them. I've seen some problems where someone had two of the same key FOB's and that was causing their problems.

The mirror errors don't throw a code, you have to manually check for them.

Default Fob memory issues

There are several things that you need to check.

1. FIRST,, What is the status of the 12 VDC battery. As strange as it sounds, the battery MUST be in top shape and fully charged. HAVE IT TESTED! Make sure that they test for cold cranking current and reserve capacity. When a battery is weak, during cranking, the B+ module voltage can fall below the module voltage cut off and that resets or plays havoc with memory.

2. Re-Program all your FOBs. The complete Reprogram and RESYNC procedure is in your owner’s manual.

3. Run the seat and mirror thru ALL of their movement ranges and make SURE that it moves smooth and completely in the desired positions.

4. Make SURE that you have the memory functions in the OPTIONS Menu properly set up.

5. YEP! Make sure that you’re grabbing the correct FOB! When I test my fobs, I program all of mine the SAME except ONE function that easily recognizable. That way I can see if each one is working correctly!

6. YEP!! Read and post the DTCs. CLEAR ALL OF THE DTCs! Set the memory and test it. If there’s an issue, READ and POST the most recent DTCs. That’s an important step for proper troubleshooting!
