clunking noise after lowering???
just lowered my 99 hardtop today. I cut the front bushings and screwed them all the way into the spring. I also cut off 2/3 of the rear factory bushings and put them back on with 2 threads showing on top. But now I am getting some type of clunk/clank noise, sounds like it's coming from the front and the rear also. If I pull through my back yard, which is kinda bumpy, I can hear the clunking. Also on the rough streets driving slowly like 10-40mph I can hear the clunk also. I am pretty sure it's definately the front because when the front tires hit a bump they clunk and the rears haven't even hit the bump yet. But when they do, i hear the noise. Anybody had any experience with this?? Could it be the shocks bottoming out? If so, which shocks should i get? Or should I try to unscrew the bolts some to raise up the car a bit? Any help greatly appreciated. I just did this to the car this evening and haven't had a chance to really look under the car yet since the install.

I lowered mine as far as it will go without cutting the bushing and I don't have that problem. Yea you might want unscrew it a bit to raise it and hopefully that should help you.

I lowered mine without cutting also....no problems. I wonder if it has anything to do with cutting the bushings?

It sounds like bottoming out, read my thread I just posted called"Ok, for those who have lowered their cars more than the factory bolts...." it might answers your questions. :cheers:
