Hanen't been on for a while, anyway, wanting to buy new tires for my 1998 C5. Was wondering if someone could save me some time by letting me know where to buy tires at a good price. Also, what brand?
Thanks
" Need stock front tires [265-40-17] confused" I just wrote a thread about this check it out and search it. I will put it back to the top.
Tirerack.com is a good website with local recommended installers. Use someone good... a local shop chipped the clear coat on my 04 comm ed z06 rim! It cost me 150 to repair. (clear coated the entire rim)

YOUR driving needs/style will determine the tire you buy;
Inexpensive(normal driving)
Bridgestone Re760, Continental DW, Hankook V12 is sizes are available
More expensive (harder cornering+speed)
MIchelin PS2 [which I just bought], Nitto Invo, Toyo Proxes 1,
Some recommended but I dont like them, BFgoodrich KDw's
Driving to race track (racing)
Nitto NT05 {wanted these but they wear FAST}
also Nitto Invo
Discounttire.com as someone said. bought my last two sets from them.
Just picked up a set of nitto invos, 18's and 19's for my C5Z.
Based on my personal research, I would recommend the following in this order:
1. Continental Extremecontact DW
2. Michelin Pilot Super Sport (over the PS2s) for mileage and performance if money is not an issue or PS2s when these are not available
3. Nitto Invo
I went with the Invo because its all that was available in my size. First choice was the Contis. Michelin was my third my choice cause of price. If price wasnt an issue, I would have had the Super Sports at #2. PS2 is a great tire, super sport improves upon it.
