I bought a RAM dual disk sveral months ago and am just now getting around to installing.
I was going to use a GM slave cylinder but the GM slave does not allow enough room for propper preload. The instructions say to have .500" to .600 and that anyhting under .500" will cause failure, and that TOO much preload will cause failure. BUT they do not state how much is TOO MUCH.
I am getting a final measurement of .860".
If you have experience with the RAM Dual Disk Clutches please let me know what you did. Thanks
I ran a RAM Dual Street and used the stock master and slave. Worked well.
I could use the stock hydraulics, but I'm just not comfortable with the amount of preload I'm getting. I've measured and remeasured and done it all again.
As stated above RAM does make a slave set up and I decided to go with that. I'm hoping that this will bring my preload down to a more comfortable number.
I do think this clutch is not as smooth as I'd like. Some of this may be due to my clutch release being at the top of the travel. I may end up getting a tick Master due to this. We'll see.

We get a ton of calls from RAM owners. Our Master will make a world of difference for you.
I wish I would have researched this further. I have the same set up and am ending up with 0.979" with the stock slave. Car will be down another week waiting on the ram slave. I wouldn't have bothered with this thing had I known it was going to be this much of a hassle.
I ended up buying a tick master as well. I haven't driven on the tick set up yet. Hopefully the release is in a more comfortable range.
I have had the tick master for about a year now. Was hoping it was going to alleviate my high rpm shifting problems but no dice. Hopefully once this mess is straightened out it will be all worth it. How's the ram dual treating you speedy?
