I just bought my first Corvette, a 1999. The previous owner wanted the auxillary fan( closest one to motor) to run all the time to keep moyor cooler. He said he changed some wiring to do this and he never has used the AC since 2002.He said AC wont work with this fan running all the time. I found he had cut two of the wires going to a plug in the low pressure line and connected them together, Red abd yellow I think. He did not cut the black wire. I reconnected these wired and that stoped tha fan and now the AC compressor runs when I turn on the AC. However I don't get any cold air. I checked the pressure on the high side( smaller fitting) and got 45 psi. I don't have the right sice fittings to check the low side.
My question is when someone does what he did to keep the fan running do they make other wiring changes? He doesnot remember what he did.
What should I check to be sure everything is running properly? Should I just add 134a to system? I know just enough to usually get in trouble so could use some help here.
Thank you for any agvise.
