Have had a/c issues for two years since owning 99 coupe. Previously I could get it recharged and it would work decently for a while before one side or other would get hot again. Both sides are now blowing very hot air. Sears has recharged the freon which didn't have any effect and claims the system doesn't have leaks and is good and something else is wrong. I am not getting any HVAC codes (says NO CODES) which seems to be what members describe with actuator problems.
Would it still be the actuators that need to be indexed or a broken gear if it is not throwing HVAC codes?
Could it be a bad compressor? Would Sears be able to tell if the compressor was faulty?
My poor cooling with proper charge wound up to be a $5 part. If you do it yourself you will save a lot. Guages at Harbor Freight and a case of freon R134a at Sams.
I have a similar problem. When my 1999 is cold the a/c works great, but after the car warms up the airflow essentially stops... even though you can hear the fan spinning and can turn it up to full speed. Is this a symptom of the expansion orifice tube malfunction?
My ac was not as cold as i thought it could be. Bought a kit at autozone with a built in guage 34.00 hooked it up and it was not enough low side pressure. The system took approx 18 oz and is like new. The low side pressure is based on the ambient temp. Its all in the kit.........the guage is reuseable.
