C1286 High Voltage on steering sensor
Trying to help a friend out with his C1286 code. He had a motor swap done awhile back and has this code ever since.
It will go throught the active handling warm up and throw an error and give the C1286 code. So I said that the steering wheel is probally off center.
We stuck a probe into the light blue wire in the center and it was reading 11.65v. I could turn the wheel 180* left or right and would drop to 11.45v. We cleaned the end of the connector and checked some grounds but it still is reading really high.
It should read from 0-5v, so I am wonder if the sensor is dead or if there is something else.
