heat is the worse enemy of the engine, I installed a 180 stat and my tune has the fans come on earlier. always runs about 192, the highest in the last two summers is 206 !!!

Might also check the radiator side saddle tanks and the bottom of the overflow reservoir.
Both are plastic.

In my 01s life, both have developed hairline cracks (with the resultant coolant loss) and had to be replaced

Default vote thermostat check

Since the problem seems erratic, the thermostat sticking is highly probable. They are designed to fail open, not closed, but still could stick in a car our ages.

What he said. If both fans don't turn on when you turn the AC on, change both the fan motor and the fan relay in the underhood fuse box. As the motors age they start using a lot of current and as a consequence the relays sometimes burn out.

Did you look to see if the radiator and the condenser are plugged up?

I did clean both but still the same, do you think I should flush the radiator? I just change the water pump and thermostat recently.
Thank you

When you refilled the radiator did you follow the factory fill procedure ? And is your front air dam still in place?

Its not the radiator. It'll get messy but to check if rad is moving fluid take bottom hose off and see what happen if u get a niagara falls its good.
