Same thing happened to me after installing my HID's and clear corners with the LED strip. It didn't happen all the time just once in a while. I would turn on just the parking/fogs and the buckets would raise but headlights off, I would turn it to full on the off and the buckets would lower then switch back to parking lights again and the buckets would stay down. I've contacted the vendor who sold me the lights and this seems to be a common problem when switching to HID's or LED's and there really is no known fix or even why it happens. I can tell you that after having the lighting for about a year the problem has just about fixed itself and really doesnt happen anymore. A real nuisance, not a big deal.
Mine is doing that now just started and my gear went out. I wonder if the two associate with eachother? Anyone know why the lights pop up(but not on) when you turn the parking lights on?
for some reason when the gear is bad the headlights will pop up with the parking lights on. Once you change that gear it should go back to normal. I just got my gear in hopefully I can get it done tonight and report back
common symptoms of headlight gears going bad. happened to me also.
when I replaced my gears the problem didn't go away, for a couple weeks afterwards, then it just suddenly vanished. its been fine for years.
You need to add a resistor inline with the stock wiring. I hope you are not using the stock light housing with your LEDS
I got the entire unit and just plug it into the exsisting wiring. Removed bulb and this unit plugs into it.
I have new brass gears too install, just haven't got them in yet. Was told this would cure the problem, but how can replacing gears affect the electrical circuit?

Read the link I posted about the gear and current for some reason it affects it. the resistor only help the headlight go up and down normal instead of having to hit your high beams in order for them to go down.

Thanks man, I should have read it. I'll change the gears and see if this takes care of the problem.
I just replaced the gear in my headlight motor a couple of weeks ago. When I put everything back together, I discovered that the light won't go all the way up or all the way down. I can manually adjust it go up but as soon as I turn on the headlights they go back down by a couple of inches and just stay there. For the life of me, I can't figure out what is going on. Any thoughts anyone?

Just heads up I just finished my swapping out tot he brass gear and sure enough everything work like normal now. I can bet once you do the same you will be gtg but yes to confirm a stripped gear will cause the problem. I just literally finsihed about 5 minutes ago and wanted to report back. btw when you say they keep "driving down" can you actually hear the gear keep going? That was my issue. Led's won't affect anything. I have clear corners/switchbacks,led corners, aca, hid fog, hid lights and no issues besides the flash to pass which I ordered yesterday from the man below me.

Thanks in advance,

I'm going to guess you probably have the adj arm backward which may cause that. It's the black arm part that goes into the motor notch and both ends should hit the stops. When you manually turn it does it go down all the way if so will they go all the way up but not down? .You can have it two different ways that's why they say remeber how you take out the motor gear. Hope that helps some.

Ok. Thanks for that bit of insight. I "thought" that I had it orientated the right way but obviously not. I will give that a shot. Much appreciated!
I can not turn off fog lights. when I turn on the (corvette 2008) are lit The fog and I can not turn off or dim your headlights. Anyone know of this problem?
