Default tpms help

i have a 99 corvette, the previous owner put 2003 wheels on it. everytime i turn the car on it says service tpms. when i go through the psi readings they are all blank. im thinking he has the 03 sensors in these wheels, with the 99 receiver? is that possible? i know they changed the system at some point.. whats the easiest way to diagnose/fix this.. ill be getting new front tires in the next week i guess that would be a good time to see what tpms i have?

There is a training procedure when you change sensors but I don't think the 03' sensors are compatible anyway with your 99' car. Do a search on it, there have been a lot of posts on this topic.

correct, if he left the 03 transmitters in then that is your problem. The 00 and older sensors are expensive.

I think you will find after doing some research it will much more cost effective to replace the sensors and move on........

is there anyway to bypass this whole system and remove it from the car? minimal weight loss + less money spent = money for headers? every car ive ever had with tpms it becomes more of a headache than anything

just reset and go. My 98 sensors are going bad and I do not plan on buying new one's. Like everyone said they're expensive. I just hit the reset button every time I get in and off I go.
