I have a little less than your budget in a H/C package that I installed myself, plus a LS7 clutch and Tune by Speed Inc. My car made 430rwhp.
Could have got more HP with a light clutch and better manifold but the hp per dollar goes way up with the FAST manifolds and supporting hardware.
Just my thoughts
With your budget and power goals, an A&A Vortech supercharger kit is the way to go. Give us a call if we can help.

Sounds good. I'm still a little ways from doing anything, but its on my list. Also, I plan on a head/cam package and full exhaust. Would it be better in the long run if I get those knocked out of the way first before going with a forced induction setup?

You can get them out of the way first, but the problem is the cam you want for a supercharger set up is different than the one you want for a pure H/C set up. The heads can be tricky too, you may not want to use as much compression if you are going to move to a supercharger.
If you are going to do both, my vote is do the supercharger first, maybe with the exhaust and wait on the other stuff. You may end up loving the boost and want more which is a different build all together.

Good point. I remembered about the blower cam, but I didn't even stop to think about the CR. Thanks, I guess that's the route Ill be going with when I get my dedicated "corvette" billfold beefed up.

Not always the case. Stephen has had some interesting results with his cams. I'd give him a call first.

Of course people can get good results with other combinations. It is still something that he needs to consider in his thought process. The idea is to get all of these little bits of information out there for the OP.
Once he has all the information he can make a better informed decision and spend his money wisely. Talking to a tuner is another good thing to do. Explaining his goals for the car will also help keep everyone on the same page.
