Default how much oil pressure with high-flow pump?

I recently had a new cam installed along with an LS2 timing chain and a high-flow oil pump - the oil pressure (guage and DIC) seems to be about the same as it was with the stock pump - should it be higher?

I used the Texas Speed ported LS6 pump, I run about 55 lbs at 40-50 mph. 80 lbs before everything warms up.

High flow pump != high pressure pump. The only thing that can raise your pressure is changing the relief valve spring. If the stock relief valve spring was left in, then you will have stock pressure. It is a common misconception that higher oil pressure means better protection. This is completely false unless your motor was designed like this from the get go. Too high pressure can actually hurt your motor...by pumping too much oil to the top of the motor at WOT.

Since you still sound like you have a stock block, you made the right choice (by accident) sticking with the stock relief valve spring. As long as your pressure is still where it was before, you are in a good shape.

Mine runs about 80psi at idle and pretty much 100 psi the rest of the time unless the oil temps get around 245 F then I see 60psi....

Its been that way since I had England Green here in Houston do one of there kitchen sink cam installs. I talked to them about it and they told me not to worry. Hopefully this was done correctly and will hold together!
