I was driving with the coupe on with a buddy, and somehow this HUGE bug flys into the windshield ON THE INSIDE of the car and splatters EVERYWHERE. Nasty green bug guts on the dash pad and the inside windshield. :(
It was VERY hard to get the bug guts off, we tried all sorts of things and finally had to use a long piece of thin, stiff steel and a papertowel with glass cleaner.
But... part of the paper towel got wedged in between the dash board and a rubber seal right at the bottom of the windshield by the HUD. :( :( :(
So I got a piece of coat hanger and bent it and got the paper towel out, but the rubber seal is twisted a little in that spot.
I'm going to try to use another thin piece of metal to untwist the seal, but I have some questions in case that fails:
1) What is the rubber seal for, exactly?
and
2) How do you remove the dash pad? Anyone done it before or know of a tech article on doing it?
A bug on the INSIDE? How fast were you going in reverse?...... Seriously, if you are ging to try a fix and can reach the area with a spray can, try a little WD-40 on the rubber strip you mentioned. You can clean it up and it will help with the tool insertion and the repair process. (I have done it .... )
