Headlight Winkey
Got in my car this morning and started up and turned the headlamps on and only one came up. I went from a C-6 to a C-5 so I am unfamiliar witht the retracting headlight system. What could be the possible cause and what troubleshooting techniques are recommended?

When you cycle the headlight switch, does it eventually raise both headlights? If so, what is happening is you have a partially stripped gear in one of your headlight motors. When the stripped portion lines up with the worm gear, that headlight will not rise. You need to replace the gear, or the entire motor on that side. www.rodneydickman.com sells a kit with a brass gear and brace that allows you to replace the gear (Much less expensive than a new motor!)
