I took your advices and put Mobil1, but 0w-40 that's what they sell here. I raced today and I saw a blue smoke when I looked the rear window, so is that ok????(when you accelerate)
Although,i just overhall the engine (Stock LS6 pistons with rings, mean and connecting bearings, bush camshaft, oil bump, and modify the stock heads by widening the rooms)

Not sure how fresh your engine is, but I know from experience e that a freshly rebuilt engine will blow some smoke for the first couple of hundred miles or so until the rings have a chance to fully seat. I wouldnt race the car until I was sure the engine was fully broken in.
Good Luck!
Im not 100 % sure on yje LS engines, but I remember regular SBC engines needing right around there (500 miles)... for break in. Only other thing I can think would be valve guides maybe...
The engine calls for 5W-30 Mobil One so why are you using 0W-40? When they/you rebuilt, did they/you use the correct tool to install the valve stem seals?
I put the 0w40 because that is what they offer here (in Kuwait). The dealer imported from France. About the seal valve, I do not know because the guys in the store did every things
0W-40 ?? Zero weight motor oils are used by racing teams in Nascar for QUAILFYING ONLY-- and not during the race----I suspect the seller bought it cheap and are finding reasons to sell it to people--
I would Not run it while racing---I hate to be pesimistic but blue smoking is not good---you may have ruined it !!! a little smoking on a new engine is normal at 1st---but un noticeable really and more of a white color--But if you can actually SEE blue smoke---I think it's gone beyond break-in smoke-- IMHO
0w40 is fine, that is all I run. It is great oil for starts and will serve you well in the high Kuwait heat. Whomever says otherwise doesn't know how multi-weight oil works.
As far as the blue smoke, it will probably go away once the motor wears in. If not I would suspect the valve seals. With that being said, I dont think I've ever seen a Z that didn't beltch a little blue when driven hard.
Might want to take it easy on the racing until the motor is broken in...
Are we talking about a THICK cloud of blue smoke or just a little residual smoke? If it's really thick it's worth looking into, if it's just a little smoke I don't think it's anything to worry about. If it persists take it back to the shop where the build was done and ask for an explanation/resolution.
Is this a fresh motor or a reconditioned one? If it's new, or if they did any porting or honing (sounds like they did based on your original post) on an old one I'd recommend doing your first oil change after 500 - 1000 miles to get rid of all the little metal burrs and rough parts that will be sheared off and floating in your oil pan...
And I only run 5W30 in mine but I would probably look for something a little heavier like 0W40 if I lived somewhere as consistently hot as Kuwait. GL

You probably still have a little extra blow by and have a little oil being ingested thru the intake manifold from the PCV system. Try a catch can. Its inexpensive and may help. It did o my 06 Coupe!
0W-40 is great oil for your area!,
Keep us posted on the outcome.

The 40 part of the oil is OK for the hot daytime temps---But at night when the temps plumet and if you do a cold engine start--You will have very little protection with 0 weight Everyone knows that cold starts are a notorious place for premature engine wear----O weight just runs off the metal like water leaving no start up barrier---
Blue smoke OK ? May need new valve seals ?? Has everyone forgotten this is a fresh rebuild ??? A little smoke during break in is OK but after that you should NOT have any white or worst of all blue smoke--
I guess everyone has their own opinion----But my experience after 23 years of racing---is that when or if it starts to smoke blue or white--make an appointment at the machine shop---LOL

Bill is right! It's definitely not your choice of oil that's causing the smoke.
The 40 weight viscosity oil, at operating temperatures, is a good choice for racing use in your hot climate area.
