Default Mysterious noise

im about to roll 50k... and i have my first mystery noise.

i have searched but not found anything that answers my question, productive replies please.

after about a hour drive, when i parked the car today, pulled the key... the seat moved back as usual.. but there was this very loud noise that sounded like it was behind me, kind of like an air compressor or jackhammer. it was audible from outside the car.

i thought it was my seat.. but i moved it back and forth a few times and was unable to duplicate.

i started the car and pulled the key a couple times but that did not duplicated it either.

from my searches i did read that the fuel filter was behind the drivers seat but i am confused at the timing of the noise.. if it were filter related, why would it make this noise when the engine is off?

thanks in advance for your assistance.

Also check that the seat back didn't go past its stop. I had this happen once on the passanger side and it made noise. You would have felt it if this is the issue however.

For those of you interested, the noise was from my passenger side pop up headlight. it goes up fine but makes this loud grinding noise. I have seen those threads and well consult for my repair option.

I told myself that of I ever had headlight issues that I would replace them with fixed lights.

I would like options of all price ranges if you could help. I have seen radio flyers work, beautiful. I was hoping to spend less under $1k, but of its close, the quality of his work makes it an easy call.

Our I could just repair it for cheap... I really news new wheels.

50 bucks gets you a brass gear and everything you need and never have to do it again.. Buy two the other will go out eventually. You want real cheap buy another nylon gear for like 15 bucks and hope to get another 50k out of her. Its a easy task. Grab some hid bulbs for your fog lights since they are projectors. They will be brighter then your headlights you wont even notice the difference with headlights on or off with fog hid. While you have everything out grab some clear corners and switchbacks and corner leds since your stockers are probably cracked and burnt.
on the housing.
