Ok guys Ive searched the forums must be 10-15 posts on this issue with no answers. Cars a 01 modded M6, pulled and cleaned every ground, EBCM has been rebuilt, SWPS has been aligned and tested, 4wheel alignment also when I got new rims and tires z06 sizes. Car tracks dead ahead even. This code only trips 4500rpms in any gear at WOT, it will not trip any other time and it will trip with traction controll on and or off. WOT only-if I ease into it wont trip. I have even pulled the Cdplayer and checked the centering of the yaw sensor and put a level on it(looks factory). EBCM clears the code everytime I turn it off and restart. Any solutions? Thanks
Yaw sensor could be it but I think it would be tripping more often, Tires are z06 size 17 front n 18 back, TPS have never thought of that might check into that next, thanks guys
The possible causes of this code are alignment, voltage supply, wiring and grounds, yaw sensor and EBCM. The first one should be eliminated and it looks like the grounds have been eliminated. Why was the EBCM rebuilt? Was it for this issue? I don't know anybody who repairs EBCMs other than replacing the relay to fix C1214 since replacement components aren't generally available to fix anything else. That leaves the wiring, yaw sensor and EBCM as candidates.
Get schematics and harness diagrams and check to make sure the EBCM is getting the proper voltage supply, check all the wiring/connectors from whatever source to the EBCM. Pay special attention to the yaw sensor wiring and connectors making sure the wires are not shorted to ground or voltage or together. If you have a SM follow the diagnostic for the yaw sensor and jury rig some wires/connections so you can use a DVM to check things Vs the Tech 2 called for in the SM. If you have cleared all of the wiring, voltage and grounds and you can't verify whether the yaw sensor is good or bad then replace it on a whim. If that doesn't fix it then you need a new or operable used EBCM.
