Apparently I am the exception here, but I received my PLII about two weeks ago....The turnaround time was 12 days. Nope, that's not a misprint...12 days. I ordered it through Matt Graham at Exit 28 Motorsports. Either Mr. Cole is getting back on track or I'm just darn lucky. Haven't installed it yet, so I can't comment on it's performance. Can't wait though!

I read that there was a difference in performance between the two, LS1 Edit and PLII. Does one tune the car better than the other? I am also looking to buy, I have a '99 A4 with no mods.
One is a tool (LS1-Edit) the other is tuning (PLII.) LS1-Edit is limited by a) the user's knowledge and/or willingness to learn and b) the tables/parameters currently supported.

Please correct me, but I would say the difference is that LS1 is about 5000 times more flexible. With PLII, you have to send it back if you change something in your car. With LS1-Edit, you are in charge of all the parameters that PLII controls in fixed mode. So, assuming you know what you're doing, LS1 is like having infinite reloads of PLII
:yesnod: :D :yesnod:
Here's another analogy: it's like having a game cartridge which plugs into your Nintendo, vs. having a computer with a big hard drive, and the access to about a hundred games, all with different parameters, which you can tailor to your wishes.

silversport: This is a moot question. Even if you decide to get a Powerloader like I did before Christmas of last year, you'll wait months and months before you'll see it if ever. Ordering mine last December I thought I'd have plenty of time to get it before the weather turned nice, but as the months rolled by I didn't get it and inquiries gave me no hope of ever seeing it. I finally gave up and cancelled my order.

Silversport,

None!

Product does what it is supposed to do. If you have any issues the dealer can reflash to stock in about 10 minutes at most and then reload PL-II if desired. We have done this several times already.

No issues with dealer and PL-II being in PCM.

The wait is worth it!

Steve is a major pain in the behind. I went with his programming so that I could make future mods for $75. Now that I am swapping gears I sent me PL back 6 weeks ago and guess what: yeah, right - no PL, no Steve. I have to eat another $500 to have Ed Wright hook me up. To hell with Steve. :mad

LS1 Edit was not available when I got Loaded. I'm happy with it but if LS1 Edit had been available, that's what I would have used.

You want EXCELLENT SERVICE? Get this!!!!!!! I faxed Ed Wright my info at about 9AM this morning. I got a call about 1:30PM from his Assistant that she was shipping my "Custom Program" (see sig, no small program) today! That's 4 1/2 hours

Steve Cole is a joke! Going on 5 months for my re-program :mad And I am still trying to get the things fixed from his 1st program AND my mod additions! Empty Promises is definitely the words for Cole! 3 months ago he stated he was working on it and NOTHING. 3 weeks ago I was told he was doing it over the weekend and NOTHING! I will never use Cole again and I caution anyone who does! Am I pissed off? God damn right I am :mad and that is putting it mildly. My true words would get me kicked off the Forum! :mad

Ed Wright is the way to go. Now, that's service! :D
Can you give me a little more info on Ed Wright's programming. Does he ship a device to you like the Powerloader or does he need the car? Also can you go back to stock like the Hypertech?

Thanks

It's less convenient than the handhelds in that you have to ship your PCM to them. You can probably do an advance exchange to minimize downtime though. No ability to revert to previous programming short of reflashing the PCM.

Hay, Mean In Green, The PLll that are new issue seem to come out quick. Thats because 'ol Steve gets more $$$ up front. The RELOADS almost never come any where near soon! Actually Soon is not in the picture. I've been waiting for over 7(SEVEN) months now for a reload and waited over 6 mo the first time around so I had the unit for a couple mo total and chevy killed my fiest PLll up load so I'm back on the stock puter now and like several others :mad :mad :mad .
I'll get an Ed Wright program probably or if I can find a close by LS1 Edit I would use it?? Best of luck if you opt for the PLll. If you get one, that is, it should be very helpful.

When there good there good when there bad life stinks!!!.There a busy place and I've had to bring PCM's back for stock reprograming on many occasions at 60.00 a pop(at the dealer) and then re-down load it.My personal favorite is ls1 edit its nice to put the car on the dyno and squeeze each and every pony you can weve gotten 18 rrwhp increases try to use a tuning shop that has a shop LS1 Edit and even burn a back up copy in case something happens and also make sure there a Dyno-Jet so you can really fine tune advance curves F/A ratio while the motor is going through its 0-150 and make sure the shop knows what there doing. We test drive your car laptop in place and pay very close attention to all diagnostics and try to fool it into throwing codes, only after 100% success do we release the car to you and you can be sure its on the money and not 1 pony is missing.Yours Truly Dave S.

Um... I thought Cartek was one of the earliest '01 beta sites? Not sure if Vette Doctors got into the beta stuff or not, but I thought they were tuning in house now.

I've been following the posts on your dilema with Steve Cole and I must say, I feel very badly for you. Although we've never met, reading your posts and reponses kinda painted a picture of you in my head as a straight shooting, level headed kinda guy. If half of what happened to you with your car and Cole....happened to me, well, I could only wish I could handle it as fairly and professionally as you have. You even stuck by him right till the last straw, with sensible, non-bashing posts. I'm sure many others will agree, that showed strength of character.

I remember your intial enthusiastic reports on the PLII, in fact that's what prompted me to order mine. Incidentially, I've had no problems, but mine is a basic upgrade, no major mod's or anything.

Anyway, just wanted you to know I'm feeling your pain. Let us know how Ed Wright's program works, will it be better than PLII?...will you be able to tell any difference between them?

PS: when I had my Impala SS, all the B body guys were using Ed.
