Default POWERLOADER REGRETS

Anyone get Powerloaded and regret it??? Any warranty issues??? I have been thinking about this because of the write ups and the possibility that it would be better for the A4 to be powerloaded but am concerned about my factory warranty...I do not plan to do many mods and am not in a big hurry which should be a good match because I hear you have to wait with Steve Cole. Any thoughts??? :chevy :seeya

Almost all users have yet regreted their purchases of Powerloader, including myself.

Waiting for it to arrive is a separate issue.

I wouldn't worry about your warranty. Dealer idiots will not know.

After "Loaded" with an A4, you will agree that this how a C5 should drive from factory.

issues revolve around time and customer service.....plan your mods out VERY carefully and if you plan on changing or adding more in the future, you're probably better off with something like LS1edit or Ed Wright, etc....

I think the bottom line is simply this:

If you have a handle on ALL your mods planned for the car (whether already done or planned for the future), then the Powerloader is a wonderful product to enhance any C5, especially the A4. Where folks are having problems is when they get the product and then do additional mods and have to send back the Powerloader for re-programming. Therefore, if you plan appropriately, you will no regreat this wonderful product IMHO.

Good Luck

I have to agree with BLK02C5, BUT don't wait until you can afford ALL the mods. This Forum is addicting and I started with a few then went nuts thanks to all the folks here. The PLII or other form of programming is a must to really enjoy your car. My PLII being in the shop for so long makes me do things at a slower pace so maybe it's a good thing it takes so long to get it back. Whatever you decide, get some kind of programming done.

Agree with BLK02C5. The powerloader was, by far the best thign I have done for the A4. A loaded and non-loaded car are 2 different worlds. Like everyone says, it should have come like this from the factory.

However, I sent my loader back in early February and have recently purchased 3.42, a SY3500 and TransGo Shift Kit and my powerloader is nowhere in sight. All I can say is it is definitely worth it from a performance standpoint, but place your order and forget all about it. This is the second time I have had to do this. Then when it gets returned you'll have a pleasant surprise.

No regrets here, I like the Powerloader because if you lose your PCM for any reason. All you will need to do is reflash it. The dealer can not help an A4 with 3.42 or 3.73 gear.

I have to disagree. I understand planning. I planned my PL purchase months in advance of all my mods and left room for errors in time. ALL I EVER GOT FROM STEVE COLE WAS EMPTY PROMISES!! Is it really a fantastic product? I don't know. I never got mine. Did Ed Wright come through in 24 hours? YES HE DID! Would I ever recommend Steve Cole? NEVER!!!!! I understand customer service and running a business as I have a few business' of my own. Do I ever lie to my customers? NO. Does Steve Cole? YES!!! He did to me several times. I don't understand how he stays in business. I think it's partially because of people sugarcoating his poor customer service. Nobody likes to admit they,ve been HAD! The truth is, some people like his product, but I think if a pole were done, 7 out of 10 people would be dissatisfied with customer service. And if you have no customer service, no way of tweaking the product without waiting months, you really have no viable product!! Why would anybody want to wait on Steve Cole, when there are better alternatives. Just my .04 cents! Eric

Actually I don't use the product anymore, but I found it to be great for A4 cars. Wait time, well that's been discussed, but still a good improvement over stock. I'm not sure the dealer will find out, unless they hook up a scanner. Never had the dealer give me issues since I never told them about the code.

Well....YOU ASKED!! The Powerloader is a great product..No doubt about it!! I've had it and it was the best mod I ever did at the time!! :yesnod: .....UNTIL I needed it reprogrammed for the carefully planned NEW modifications. Steve Cole disapointed...BIG TIME!!!

If you ever need a program for new and much anticipated mods ..well, you might as well throw the PLII into the abyss because you will NEVER see it again :yesnod:

I read that there was a difference in performance between the two, LS1 Edit and PLII. Does one tune the car better than the other? I am also looking to buy, I have a '99 A4 with no mods.
