I ordered a set of PIAA 9006 Xetreme White Plus Low Beams and got the wrong bulb, appearantly.
The numbers are correct and I know the part number is correct for my 2001 Z06, however the thing will not fit. Even the factory bulbs I took out say 9006 on them so I feel I have the correct PIAA part number.
So I was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem, like a mislable from the factory? Counterfit?
Double check the bulb, if it is the right one, then check the base for a rubber washer. A lot of bulbs come with a new washer and you assume that the old one came off with the old bulb, when actually you are trying to fit the bulb on with two washers installed................Happened to me on two different cars...................
After disscussing the problem with the vendor I purchased the bulbs from, he stated that he's had at least 3 C5 owners in all of the bulbs sold to have this problem.
The problem I figured out was that the round portion of the bulb base (the one where the o-ring fits) is a fraction to big. So remove the o-ring, grab some sand paper and give it a few twist to remove just enough material for it to fit. Don't forget to reinstall the o-ring and wipe the bulb with alcohol to degrease it.
