AC Belt-Quick Question?
Just want to be certain that the AC compressor belt only drives the AC compressor. It just slide off the idler pulley and partially shredded. I cut it off and all's well. Before I drive her more than a few miles I wanted to be certain that the belt only runs the AC. I assume there are no problems running without the belt, other than no AC.
I think this may have uncovered my squealing problem that the dealer recently spent a week trying to fix thinging it was the crank pulley/balancer. They didn't fix it but there is no longer a squeal. Probably was the AC compressor or idler all along.
