I'm looking into purchasing the DEPO fixed headlight system for my 2000. I've read a lot about the clear part cracking from exposure to heat. Has anyone found a way to prevent this? My first thought is to protect the lens with Lamin-X, but I'm not sure if that will suffice. Please let me know if anyone has experienced this. Thanks
Ran mine all summer.....all summer...all summer....what a long summer it was..is..what ever . we have had 39 days over 100 and 79 days over 90 .
And zero cracks...I had mine paint matched (top) and he cleared the whole lens (nice and thick). Don't know if that made a difference or helps but I have no cracks to speak of.
I've had mine in place over a year as well and no cracking issues. The tops are painted black to match the car with the opening unpainted. I drive with the lights on during the day and I haven't had any cracking at all.

I bought my 99 FRC Sept. 2010 with the depots, I think it was June I noticed the clear coat flaking,, I plan to have them painted this winter.
had mine for over 2 years...no problems at all EXCEPT..the housings that hold the bulb tend to melt a little and the bulb slowly moves down over time. Just have to pull them out and set them back in place.
Thanks for the info, I'll be looking out for that now
