Default Steering Column Lock

Good evening

I have a 2002 ZO6 with the steering lock coulmn S/B done already. Well I go down the street to get a haircut yada yada yada put my key into ingnition and start to back up. Car dies? Look up on DIC steering column lock light on. Went to corvette forum found and did read most of Sticky's forum. So I did read most of it and troubleshoot the system. No codes. Check Battery optima 75/35 check good at Auto zone. Do I need the harness installed or what I am lost. This such a cool car but it has some issues. Any help would be grateful. I have done everything in Sticky's guide but thinking its the wire harness to install. Thanks

I live in San Antonio it was 107 in side the car had to be 150+ just guesing. I had the windows rolled up. With that being said I check on the forum for and idea, Battery, fuses, relays ect... came across the thread #113. by this time had it towed to my house. Tow guy did a great job. well long story short . went out about 11:00Pm and started car up no messages or codes. It has something to do with the steering column in side the coulmn it self. I was reading thread #73 and#74 that leads me to believe thats the problem. Runs right now. If you see something I am missing hit me up. I am going what I did and followed the Sticky Thread for steering column lock. any ideas is welcomed.

I am guessing that you need a CLB so that the locking motor is out of the picture.

Basically it sends the proper signal to the controller that the column is unlocked and everything is good to to.

If the display says Service Steering Column somewhere along the line the controller thinks the column is locked.

Are you sure the battery is good, heat is tough on batteries.

yes that was first thing we did. It's optimna 75/35 took it to auto zone they check it it was 12.57 charged it back up. reistalled it same thing happen. I believe its a heat problem in the steering control. I ve seen all these thread abot it and i do not see where or how the heat of the day was noted. The threads goes on about Battery, fuses and relays. I drove it today it seem ok for now. any more input wuold help to see if I am heading in the right direction.
