A helpful tip for all those contemplating belt/pulley changes:

When re-installing the main drive belt, route it around all pulleys first, letting it remain slack over the main water pump hub (it's "bell" shaped on LS1s). Once the belt is prepositioned, release the tension on your main tensioner with your socket/breaker bar and at the same time reach down and slide the belt into position over the water pump (bell shaped) pulley. IOW, make it the last one.

The smooth, rounded, bell shape makes it much easier to slide the belt into position before releasing pressure on your tensioner bolt.

Can I drive my car without the accessory belt? I mean it's just powering the ac and hell it's winter here.
