Default 2nd to 3rd shift off limiter....

Any info will help guys... I've done tons of research and can't get the info I needed. At the track it hits the limiter a few times before actually going into 3rd. I know theres a MPH and RPM setting in HPtuners to adjust, But what are your tuners putting in the tranny tune for the MPH and RPM. I wanna say mine are 3-4 shift 71 MPH and 6500 RPM.Is the RPM setting to high? I'm going to my tuner tomorrow to adust it...... Thanks in advance. Oh ya the fluid is not low. I've checked it 4 times haha

I meant 2-3 shift at 71 mph and 6500 rpm not 3-4

Someone could probably help if you actually shared info like your rev limiter setting and what rpm you wanted it to shift at.

I would expect you have to set the shift rpm a few 100 rpm below the actual point you want it to shift. I've been playing with an LT1 with stock trans and I've found the shift rpm needs to be about 500-600rpm below the rev limiter so as to not hit the limiter. Your trans should shift quicker but it'll still have some delay.

I think my rev limiter is set at 7000 or 6900. Not 100% for sure. Car didn't seem to make any more power after 6800 on the dyno so I would assume shift around there.

At 71mph you would be at 5560rpm without any torque converter slip. The coverter might be slipping enough to put this over your 6500rpm shift point.

Do you know the shift rpm setting for the 1-2 shift? ? If you use the same shift rpm for the 1-2 shift, then that would point to the mph actually being too high.

Logging the proper data during a run would tell you instantly which setting is too high. I have read of others putting in fairly low shift mph so that just the rpm needed to be set to adjust the shift point.

My LT1 got me on the shift mph for the 1-2 shift. I though 35mph was low enough with it calculating out to ~4300rpm, but the setting was still holding the shift up until it hit the rev limiter. Logging of the current commanded gear, vehicle speed and engine rpm showed that the speed was below 35mph until well past the shift rpm setting.

Ok here is my settings I just called my tuner. 1-2 6700, 2-3 6700, 3-4 6700 and 1-2 38mph, 2-3 71mph, 3-4 124mph in my opinion the rpm settings are too high
