Default American Racing Header cracked?

Hey guys, my American Racing long tube cracked at the weld by the collector, passenger side. It sounds terrible...lol. Anyone experience this? They are about 2 years old, installed by Vette Doctors. I am hoping to take it out and have it professionally welded, looks like a clean break.

I wouldn't sweat it much, mods do have their issues sometimes.

Should be able to fix it right up. Never heard of many ARH failing. I am about to hit the year mark with my ARH headers and they look flawless.

In 7th year and almost 100k miles with LG Pros. FWIW I have them out of the car right now doing a top end rebuild and they look fine. You likely just got lucky and had a small defect in a weld. I don't think cracked headers are a common problem but should be an easy fix.

ARH are fantastic headers and I’m POSITIVE that Nick and the boys at ARH will stand by their product.

Call Nick and discuss your options. Any competent weld shop can repair / weld 304 stainless easily. The repair should only cost $20-$30 bucks and take less than 30 min to accomplish.

Their shop is right in Amityville near the Vette Doctors. Give them a call and see what they will do. I have had mine for a few years and they have been great.

why take it out? mine were welded right on the car when two pipes were clanking together on a hard right turn...just 'knit welded'....basically the same procedure that you need...

Mistakes/problems always occur in a business like this. How a business takes care of their customers when there is a problem is just as important, if not more so, then when things are going well.

Damn! I wish I had ARH's instead of these SLP's I caught hell finding parts for mine and I bet next time it WILL be impossible. Maybe SLP will read this and offer to upgrade mine to the new style. LOL.
