Default Drives side door control lost help?

Yesterday driving to golf, I put my window up to hear a phone call. ooops! Lost control of drivers panel right afterwards. Good thing was window stuck up. We got big rain during golf. Sun back out but no control on drivers side. Fuse? Where? Thanks

very common. does it still click when you push the button.
a lot of people have gotten the window to unstick by tapping on the torx screws under the plastic panel behind the door pull.

Thanks. I checked all fuses (33 ldcm and 34 ld power), but they were good. Checked codes and then I knew. Once I saw the codes for radio and comm erorrs for all kinds of things, I knew it was the door wiring gremlins. They must have heard me thinking of them again. Damn door wiring gemlins!

Does anyone know the wiring harness that leaves the body to the dooor connection? How far up into the body it goes, before there are breaks/connectors? I think I may want to replace the whole damn thing.

Wiggle the accordian tube that connects the door to the A pillar.

100%

The POWER CONNECTOR in the door frame is HOSED and the female pins are all spread apart. Time to work on those pins!

Thanks everyone. I did this a few times 2 yesrs ago. Got out that liquid insulation stuff. Unwrapped tape on one bundle as far as I wanted to go. Checked for any shorts. Back then everything would go wack and all kinds of errors/warnings. This time only the loss of drivers panel/control. No wacky everything TCS, IPC reduce engine power, radio loss, fritzing errors.

Found that the panel just inside body up under dash (kind of) was not snapped in, this panel carries/holds the door wiring back into the body just inside the body. I installed it correctly. My problems went away for the last few years. I have always figured the gemlins would get out again.

I know that connector (in your photo) it looked just fine a few years ago and I used electrical contaact cleaner on it. This last problem round is solved for now, by massaging the accordian tube, but the error codes (and experience) is what really lead me to the accordian tube. Maybe it is only loss of power.

But when this rain stops and I get a clear day I'll give it a look. Looks like we will have to build arks soon.
