Default Brand new Fast 90

I found a brand new fast 90 intake right out of the box for $775.00. Is that a resonable price? What do I need to do for a TB? I read somewhere to port my stock TB. Please advise. Thanks

I reckon you should buy it, as they are hard to find. Unless you have an LS2 or later, you can't use an LS1/6 TB with a 90mm manifold.

buy it and grab an LS2 TB. But the FAST 90 does actually have the provision for the LS1/6 TB IF you reli choose to use it (I wouldn't)

Good point......I should have said.....it defeats the purpose of having a 90mm opening.

To the OP LS2 TB's used go for around 200.

To name some vehicles it was available in:

Corvette C6 0-07
Cadillac CTS-V 06-07
Pontiac GTO 05+

Thanks Guys, I'm still green on the ls stuff. I can't hardly believe though i'm fixing to pay almost as much as a set of aluminum heads cost, for the old SBC's, for a plastic intake. I worked 32 years in a plastic plant, it just don't seem right. I guess I'll get the intake bought then worry about a TB. Thanks again.

I already got heads and a cam, but I don't know what intakes on it. I'm the second owner since the mods and the man I got it from didn't know. Here's the car: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRJpMqfVmuk

Thats what it sounded like when i bought it, and probably what drew me to it to begin with. I got all the exhaust leaks fixed and put a set of Z06 Ti's on it, its not that radical sounding or loud now but does still have the nice lope. Found a ls2 TB in the parts section for $170 shipped. I tell you guys I'd be dangerous if I were rich.

Dude definiteeelyyyyy get that fast lol your engine is like a beer bottle right now. Open the manifold,tb,and cold air intake so it can breathe and the rest will flow. You should def pick up around 20rwhp maybe more that with a more free flowing exhaust, UD pulley, light flywheel and clutch...I'm sorry I'll just stop

Sweet car btw white is beautiful

It's got the cold air intake. I'm going to find that guys # that built this thing tommorrow and call him, I've talked to him once before, and find out which intake "is" on the car. Is the "fast" worth doing if its got the ls6 intake already? The dyno sheet I got shows it made 404RWHP.

IMO anyone with heads and a cam, or plans to go bigger should have a FAST. I'm gesing it has an intake. What year is it? I'm thinking it's cam only. A small cam. Still sounds niiiiice

I have that same manifold with the ls2 90mm tb on my '99 FRC. I haven't been to a dyno in a while to give you any numbers, but the seat of pants dyno says it was an upgrade..

You might want to check the rest of the system as well if you plan to open up to a 90mm. The factory mass air was only 75mm. Switching to the later 85mm 5-wire helped mine breath a little easier.

Hi,

I have seen this car in person at a car meet. Plus I have seen it riding past his house. I can't comment on the intake, but it did look like a sweet car. I am glad you got the leaks figured out because I do remember that the tips were a little sideways.

They are not sideways any longer. I put new SLP pipe from the headers, 2 new high flow cats, and a nice set of used Z06 Ti mufflers. You can hear yourself think in it now, unless you jack up those 2 amps thats hooked to the Alpine stereo.
