I've been looking at some threads and have been getting conflicting info on how to remove the rear passenger side 1/4 panel on my 01 Z06. Anyone with experience can you please lend some advice?
1. Do I have to remove the rear bumper to remove the 1/4?
2. Do I have to remove the inner fender liner to remove the 1/4?
3. Does the antenna and trim need to be removed to remove the 1/4?
4. How many "inner" fender bolts do I have remove once I remove the outer tail light to access them?
Any tips with removal or installation to make it go smoother would be much appreciated.
#1 You can access the bolts through the tail light opening.
#2 Just remove the screws that attach to the panel, leave the inter well
in place.
#3 Remove the wire connected to the antenna.
Here is a photo with the left fender panel removed. Hope this helps.
with the hard top, i'm pretty sure the top has to come off to get to a few of the mounting screws. my passenger side was just off a couple weeks ago (i busted the crap out of it) & they got the pieces of the old one out just fine but said they had to take the roof off to install the new one.
Zebra, my understanding is that pre 2001 that may be the case but 2001 fwd GM used those hidden screws as holding tabs so the panel basically just slides under them instead of actually fastening the panel in place. what year is your FRC?

A little info from my experience with the 1/4s
I can tell you I didn't have to remove my top to get the 1/4s off my Z. I replaced my driver side 1/4 with a 1/4 from a convertible and all i had to do was trim out a small piece around the screw hole so it would slide up under the screws.
I read on this forum that you have to notch out a new panel that replacement panels do not come to where they slide under the screw and you have to do it yourself.

2000. it woulda been nice if it would've just slid out. there was a crack in my roof that had to be repaired anyway, though.
