Engine block question
I wonder how many HPs stock LS1 engine(stock pistons, rods, crankshaft) can handle if I mount 2 turbochargers 1000-1200hp? Should I mount oil injectors for additional pistons oil cooling ? as it usually does on turbo engines? what is RPMs red line for stock engine(head)?
Also, As far as I know LS1 engine has aluminum block, with single camshaft, that means that there is some HP limit for such block.
As I was told, there is another great American engine - 4.6L V8 DOHC 32-valves with iron cast block + supercharger, it is installed in Ford mustang COBRA 2003 in stock. I suppose that iron cast block can handle much more HPs/torque.
Do you know is it possible/difficult to swap COBRA's engine into corvette c5?
Ironically, I see more and more LS motors in mustangs (at the strip), every year.
If you do plan on installing a Ford motor in a Vette, don't expect to get any support(or make any friends here).....

for 1000-1200 hp a billet block may be a wise choice.
does it have cast iron block with dohc 32-valves head?
As for me, I want to install toyota engine 2jz 3L in-line engine as it is on toyota Supra. for installing 4wd into corvette, it is better choice actually. But I consider other compact american engines with cast iron block, so it would be the place in the motor bay for front reducer (differential), and other parts., that's why I am asking that question.

actually, I am not chasing for a bigger block, I just want to have a middle, compact, strong engine with iron cast block to boost it up to 2-2.5+ bars with 2 turbochargers(1 per head) and spool the engine up to 7000-8000 RPMs.

yes, you are right actually. Rear WD is not suitable for me at all, I want 4wd only! and I am going to install it. dont ask me how I would do that, we have much experience in that matter.
Go buy a Subaru.
better yet, go get one of those old Mitsubisi 3000GT's with all wheel drive, 4 wheel steering and twin turbos. A PLUMBING NIGHTMARE-ought to keep ypu out of Vodka for quite some time!!

I see that corvette engines have names like LS1, LS2, LS3 ... but at the same time I cannot find the name of COBRA's engine, it's only have description V8 4.6L dohc, do you know why so?

The LS9 is the 640hp 2 valve engine in the new ZR1 Corvette.
ps. I don't like subaru, and MMC, that's another conception. that all models have full time 4wd system.
4wd system that I am going to install, will have possibility to switch off front WD from the button(electronically), so you will have stock RWD, then push button again to have 50/50 4wd, the same system as Nissan Skyline GT-R have. Basically you can start with 50/50 4wd, and then after 100km/h speed or on 3rd gear you can switch off front wd and go on Rear WD only.

4.6L V8 32-valves iron cast block + supercharger:
do you know the name of this engine?
I can just choose a body of the car, and corvette c5 looks better than any others.
a) it has aluminum block
b) big compression ratio 11:1 - that's not good foor big boost
but I found another similar engine: V8 DOHC 4-valve 5.4 L iron cast block +supercharger, cars with that engine:
Ford GT500 2007–2010
Ford SVT Cobra R
