98 Corvette, had a new oil pressure sensor switch install two weeks ago and it was fine. put new car battery in tonight and oil pressure is reading high again. do i need to reset something or maybe i shorted out the switch?

Agreed. Parts from GM are warrantied for a year. Its a common problem. Don't be surprised if it happens yet again after this too. GM went with a less than quality part when they switch manufacturers. If they can get you a "brass" sensor, you'll be better off which was the OEM.
Here we go again; the type of metal the sensor is made out of has nothing to do with the failure rate, over torque does. Some of the techs will shortcut procedure, not removing the intake to save time, still charging the standard rate. Not removing the intake means more than likely it wasn’t properly torqued.
As others have already suggested, take it back and make sure it is changed using the proper manual procedure. To the original poster, you should be able to see signs if the intake was or was not removed the first time you had the job done.
