OK. Driving the other day and the mirror just dropped. it was hanging by the wires that plug into it. It's a 97'. Not sure if there was only 1 style in 97'. So the mount is still on the glass. The mirror seperated at the ball. The mirror side has a plastic cup that I think snaps over the ball mount. Any advice on if it will just push back on? Don't want to force anything but need my mirror asap.
It should just pop back onto the ball. If the mount broke for some reason, you can buy a new one and have it installed by just about any glass shop. You don't want to try removing it from the windshield yourself. Have a pro do it. But if the mirror unit popped off the bracket, that socket should just snap back on. Push firmly, holding the bracket from behind, but don't force it.
I removed the mount off the glass with the single torx screw. it just slides off the part that is glued to the glass. That piece has a ball on the end of it that sits into the part that is on the mirror itself. there are two ball joints. The one closest to the mirror is fine. but I'm telling you, I can't push the other ball back in. I'm gonna end up breaking it trying. there is a plastic cup in the end of the tube piece that kind of hangs out a little. it's not loose or anything but i just can't get the ball to go back in and i'm trying on a workbench. Anyone?
