Once you thread those in, will they not screw back out so you can grind of tip, then re-insert? I bought 4 of these 4 years ago when I first got my car, now I am down to 2!
Yep, they're amazingly easy to make and very easy to use. I used 10oz training pucks ( orange) to make mine since they're heavier and flex less. They are a little more expensive but are worth it in my opinion. Plus, because they're orange in color, they're more visible and you'll be less likely to forget to remove them after you're done.
I used those for a long time in the garage until I had to take the car into a tire shop. After specifically telling them to use the pucks and then telling them that the pucks were in the passengers seat, they still "forgot" After that I put on the elite engineering rocker panel savers.

Why not just screw them into the car before dropping it off?
Were you brave enough to do this extremely complicated DIY yourself or did you pay quadruple to have a professional fabricate these highly intricate pieces for you?

My guess is, he did it himself. What he didn't do, was create a thread in the Tech section, showing the world his amazing accomplishment.

Look under the car where it goes, there's a notch that the eye goes in and with a half turn holds it in place. I made a bunch but I doubled them up using a longer eye bolt, they were cheap and work great.
I don't really like the hockey pucks because they do deform under load, and the plastic ones will eventually break.
I had a machine shop make me a set out of aluminum with stainless steel "T" post to fit the slot.

The orange "practice" hockey pucks, are made of a harder dence material & will not deform under load.
I have use these all the time & for many years.
