2004 Convertible metallic rattle help PLEASE
I purchased a 2004 convertible.
I have the most aweful rattle coming from what sounds like a heat shield right under the shifter.
It doesn't do it all the time, but happens on acceleration and then when the overdrive kicks in.
It sounds like a thin piece of metal.
I saw the post on the springs on the back side of the exhaust, but this doesn't sound like an exhaust vibration at all.
Has anyone had this?

I have had this noise for a while as well. When I visited an exhaust shop they took me out to the lift and showed me a small metal ring on the o2 sensor that was loose and rattled. I have yet to get the issue fixed...was hoping for an easier option than a new sensor to find out. I do know the rattle is more tin sounding and doesn't sound like the exhaust moving.
