Default Fog Light switch and trunk switch not working

Just purchased a 2000 c5 convertible and the fog light switch and trunk switch on the left side of the steering wheel are not working. The key fob trunk button works fine, but neither of the 2 buttons work in the car work. Any help?

Check to see if the plug is off.

My fog lights did not work when i got mine this year and it ended up being a relay under the hood, but i agree with 65 if both are not working it might be unplugged.

That fog/trunk switch assembly just pulls out of the dash. Use a small flat blade screwdriver to pry it out part way if you need to. There's a connector back there with a couple of wires in it that's probably loose. Check to make sure it's in tight. Let us know if it works.

Congrats on your purchase

Pulled out the entire switch and everything is plugged in. Still nothing. Disconnected battery. That didnt do anything but reset all my radio stations lol. When I push the unlock button on key fob, fog lights come on for a few seconds. Both buttons still wont work though.

Check fuse 32 in the passenger footwell under the kick panel... It's a 15 amp fuse.

Hi guys

Having same issue.
Just disassembled the entire dash to fix the AC actuator, and then reassembled the dash.
Everything working fine except the buttons that open the trunk and the fog lights (switch left to steering wheel).
I have made sure the switch is connected and also attemped changing the 15amp fuse without any luck. Also disconnected and reconnected battery.
Any tips to next steps of fault searching?

When I had this problem it was the switch itself. There was a burned diode on the circuit board.

is their any way of testing the switch with an ohm meter as I am having the exact same problem. The trunk works fine using the FOB or door key.

Thanks

I don't know about the rest of the switch, but on mine it was obvious that the diode was blown. You can test the diode with an ohmmeter, it should have continuity in one direction but not the other. It's easy to spot as it's black and round.
