'98 A4 Trans Noise..........
Question....After the car is up to tempurature, when I am stopped there is a noise that you can hear and feel through the floor. If I put the car in neutral the noise is gone. (this noise is on top of the rattling under the hood) Back into any gear and its back. Reverse does not have the trouble. I have asked the dealer to look at it twice now and the invoice is marked...............could not duplicate customer complaint.................So I am wondering if anyone else has had this trouble and corrected it. The noise sounds like metal trying to grab someting and sliding over it, choppy sounding. Everything else works perfect, shifts, up--down etc. The noise just leads to a bad feeling that something is gonna happen. The car has 32,500miles. Seems to only happen above 120 on the trans temp.
