I have a little curious problem.
yesterday i drove my vette at about 70mph. Then i hit full throttle. the rpm going up in a straight line until about 4000rpm 120mph then the acceleration stopped (pedal to metal).
when i go slightly up from the pedal and the ATG takes the next gear acceleration starts again, but slower for sure.
When i go away from the pedal and hit it again to the metal after one second acceleration starts also again and goes up to 6500rpm in the same gear it stopped before, then it shifts up. So the problem is not there every time. it often comes at high speed but not repeatable for testing.
there are no codes in the memory.
any idea what that could be? where i should start the search?

Stock? What year and how many miles are on the car?
I have heard of funny high RPM behavior when the valve springs are having problems. It is usually associated with aftermarket cams and it is because the springs are not strong enough. The valves end up floating/stumbling and cause a loss in power.

Can i check the springs myself? Or ask in another way.
I can change my brakedisks in front of my house, can i check the springs without special tools and other equipment?
I would not worry about valve springs until you have thoroughly checked fuel, ignition and etc. Unlikely it is springs with that behavior. Odd it is not setting codes.
Does your 2003 have an external fuel filter? Mid-way through that production year GM went to a different fuel system without an external filter. Change your filter if you have one--your breakdown sounds like a fuel delivery problem but of, course, it could be otherwise. Good luck and please post back to the Forum when you find the problem
This is a common occurance---I have found no fix---
However IF the eng coolant is cold the rev limiter is set to 4000'ish temporarily til it warms up--
Other than when being cold--My car will sometimes "SHORT SHIFT" for no reason IF I am on/off the throttle or in the middle of the RPM range when I do floor it----It never short shifts if I floor it to WOT and let it shift from a slow or dead stop---But sometimes if I am between gears like after leaving a stop--and I am loafing it--say around 40 MPH---then go to WOT it will short shift----It's just the nature of the beast !!

Hmm, didnt notice any temperatureissues. Have to check that in the hud next time it happens.
Have also to check if mine has an external filter.
