Default Dumb question probably

What the heck is that small vent on the left side of the passenger footwell for? I have one of those travel buddy dual cup holder things that slips between the tunnel and the center console on the passenger side and it covers that vent.

Thanks,
Mike

So the cup holder will only block air from coming out?

The 2 legged ones don't hold the drinks well at WOT while your driving looking out the passenger window going straight, lol.

If you cover that vent, the carpet will swell up like a hot air balloon and lift the car enough to lose traction. Or maybe just explode.

Honestly, I've had three and never tried to figure out why it was there.
