I can program my Vettey to the power tuning just fine and it runs awesome. However, when I program it back to stock - the car turns on for a second and then shuts off. And trouble codes start to come up. Then if I program the car back to the Hypertech power tunning, it runs fine again  :smash: :cry . Anyone have this problem? :nopity
 :seeya :chevy thanks for any insight in advance :flag
Re: Hypertech Power Programmer Users . . . (B. Stewart)
Humy,
Same as B. Stewart here. I've gone back and forth 6-8 times and have not had any problems. Have you watched the programmer during the return to stock? If something goes wrong is will give you a code. First time I ever used mine it lost connectivity and gave me a code. I called hypertech and they told me what had happened. Made sure that I didn't move the unit or cable since and have had no problems.

I can help! I know the problem, I had the problem too. It is a theft deterrent issue. When you return to stock, the hypertech doesn't do a nice cleanup job on the firmware. What you need to do is return to stock, try and start. The car will run for a second or so and then shut off. Connect the hypertech again, let it start up, let it validate the VIN, then once it prompts you to program again, do nothing. Shut the car off, disconnect the programmer. Restart the car, it will fire right up.
I got this solution directly from Hypertech, it works perfectly. It is certainly not a desirable situation, but they say its a known issue.
Sounds like 'JT' has the answer. Let us know how you make out.
I like the part where it says 'Reduced Engine Power' about 50% through the tuning (it does on my 2000 anyway) - not exactly what we have in mind is it? :)
