Help! It happened again... Service Column Lock issuses
Im mostly new to posting but been lurking around for many years.
Well about 2 months ago i had to dreaded "service column lock" and took it to the dealership to get it fixed. I thought they had fixed it. Low and behold it happened again. This time they are saying the motor is burnt up(the column lock motor) and want me to replace it which is going to cost roughly $500. Is there any way i can avoid replacing it? The steering wheel is not locked up but the fuel cut off is. Can i take it to a tuner and just get them to bump it from 2mph to 200mph? (I live about a mile from hinson) What would you do to avoid the $500 bill? If i ordered the bypass module would i still need to replace the motor?
Thanks again, Jadams

From what I've read on here, you're probably better off with the motor being burnt up. Seems you could just get the shut-off reprogrammed. I think your dealer screwed ya!
Email sent with the info we discussed. Post your results back here please.........
can u please pm me this same info. for preventative measures. I was thinking of cutting the pin off also, to help prevent this column lock problem. But won't the fuel still cut off? TIA, Shawn
