Right, I think if you have a manual transmission it will work in any manual transmission C5 97-04. Automatics have a transmission fluid cooler in the radiator.
You could also just bypass the the transmission cooler portion of the radiator.
This would be a plus as the temps may run slightly lower.
I'm sorry but how do you figure BYPASSING THE COOLER will LOWER the temps?
This makes absolutely zero sense..I understand your thinking that the radiator is "hot" so the fluid will be "cooler" but that's just not the way it works.
With ANY type of an automatic trans, you should always be using at the very least the factory radiator as a cooler...better to use the factory AND an external or at a minimum a good sized external cooler.
Just for some facts, I think that the 97 radiator had a different fan shroud mounting bracket method than the later ones. Just saying for future interest if anyone needs to know

I suspect SueTaing meant the ENGINE might run a little cooler due to the removal of the extra heat input from the tranny. Assuming the engine temps were normal to begin with, I think the thermostat would just close a little more.
