Default Squeaky steering wheel

This is not a biggy, but it's worth asking about. I have a squeak coming from the steering column, sounds like a foot outside the firewall. You hear it in parking lots, driveways, doing parking maneuvers. I know it needs lubrication, but how do you get there without destroying your car?

It's very tight in that neighborhood.....

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Best,

Bluemill

IF it sounds like it is under the hood, try the bearing in this article.

Default Where is this located?

I have lithium grease that I can inject, but where is this bearing, and can I reach it without taking the column out of the car? I could take out the the windsheild washer fluid reservoir, and that's pretty easy, but other than that, things looks are pretty tight in there- and complicated to extract. I do not think that removing the master cylinder would be advised - but maybe I can get the booster out of the way, without monkeying with the brake lines.

The picture in the link you sent looks like it's out of the car- and I have no idea which end it's at.

The noise is definitely under the hood.

Help!!

Thanks for your response..... it's the only one I got.

Best,

Bluemill
