Default Transmission shift issues..... Help

I'm having an issue with my 2nd to 3rd shift on my Built 4l60e.... *Took it to the track for the first time last weekend and it's bouncing off the limiter(7,000rpm) before shifting into 3rd.... My tuner logged all my passes and adjust the mph and rpm setting in the tranny tune where they need to be... He also tried to set the shift rpm and mph low just to see if it would short shift and it keeps hitting the limiter.I've triple checked the fluid....and it doesn't throw any codes. On the street it shifts fine and every shift is nice a firm... **The log doesn't show any slipping at all.... The tranny only has about 3-4,000 miles on it.... Solenoid bad possibly??? *It's only 2nd to 3rd.. And my tuner has tried everything... On the log it just passes the mph setting and rpm setting in the tune... It's seems like there is a long delay from the tranny and the computer telling it to shift. *Any ideas will help ********Thanks. * It's a built 4l60e,yank ss3600, 3.73gears. Chad

I would verify the WOT Max. MPH table setting (2 -> 3 shift) is correct and is >/= the 2 -> 3 shift point in the MPH vs. RPM Part Throttle shift points table.

That's all I got

In the transmission section of your tune. The tune data is arranged in various tables (like excel). There is one page in that tune that sets the maximum WOT (wide open throttle) MPH for each gear (before you hit the rev limiter). There is another table that says when each upshift (i.e. 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd, etc) and each downshift (i.e. 4th to 3rd, 3rd to 2nd, etc) can occur. Two requirements have to be met for any shift to happen. The car has to be going the correct MPH and at the correct RPM.

Because are having an issue with hitting the rev limiter going to 3rd, I was suggesting that you compare the values in the two tables. The first table being the Maximum WOT MPH for each gear. Compare the max. WOT MPH value (specifically 2nd gear) to the MPH upshift value in the Part Throttle Shift table (specifically 2nd to 3rd) that state when it is OK to shift to the next higher gear (upshift). If the value in the PT 2 to 3 upshift MPH value is > the WOT 2nd gear maximum MPH value, you will hit the limiter and not shift.

I hope this clears it up.

Yes it does... Thank you. I'm going to my local track tommorow to see if we can log and get this 2-3 figured out... I will post what we figure out.

Went to the track tonight. Still hitting limiter 2-3.... My tuner adjusted....WOT Upshift 2-3 down to 65mph and my WOT rpm 2-3 to 5900.... It satisfies the mph and rpm and still doesn't shift. All the WOT tables and part throttle tables match,,,,,, I'm at a lost. My 3-2 downshift is at 61 mph. So it's lower than my upshift. Any ideas????? He looked through the tranny tune and said everything looks good and can't figure out why it's not shifting..... Limiter is at 7000

You can look at things like when is the gear shift commanded, how high the engine revs during the shift, how long is the shift taking, and so forth using your scanner in order to determine if the behavior you're seeing is actually before, during, or after the shift. You really only have control over when the shift starts and how long you want it to take. You might get pointed in the right direction if you can verify whether or not the shift has been commanded when you think it should be. Can't tell from your original post if the long delay you mention is from your scans or just a 'feels like'.
