Okay I have heard lots of good on the monster level 2, I also have a buddy that had a ACT HDSS and loved it.
The monster shows 550tq and the ACT HDSS is 725tq.
Now the monster I can use stock hydraulics, but im unsure on the ACT, I think it needs a upgraded master due to its 52% more pressure over stock.
The monster kit with slave seems to be around 850usd, with lightweight flywheel.
ACT I can get I think around 600 with a flywheel from a friend (distributor) then another 200 for a slave then a Tick is like 300. So a bit more in the end, but also getting a tick master.
My Other option im thinking is a Mcleod RST twin disk, stock flywheel is possible and hydraulics on this, plus they are super smooth from what i have driven.
Which is the better pick?
I can get ACT from a friend at close to cost.
My setup should be around 450-460whp maybe a 100shot. Will the monster hold that?
I've heard nothing but good things about monster. I'll be moving to a monster for my next clutch in the near future. I think you're probably going to end up wanting an after market master for a clutch like that no matter what brand it is so you might want to keep that in mind for budgeting...
I have a monster Stage 3 in my C5 with a new gm slave and Tick master. Couldnt be happier. This is my 2nd Monster clutch.
Mcloed Twin in my brothers 68 (ls2 swaped) with new slave and Tick master, I dislike the feel of that clutch. It holds, but I guess I am just use to my GTO and C5 pedal feel.

I have the Monster Stage 2 with light weight flywheel. One of my favorite mods to date. Absolutely love the feel (lighter than stock LS6). Engages closer to the floor for quicker running thru the gears. I have 450rwhp and it holds GREAT ! Its good up to 550rwhp Monster says. I can slip it like a stock clutch. No increased pedal effort I can feel. Still using the stock Hydraulics (replaced master and slave when I had clutch installed).
Im running the Monster Stage 3 with good results. Have abused it at the track half a dozen times so far with no issues. Takes a little getting use to on the street, but no biggy.
I dont have anything negative to say about the monster or the mcleod, but i am currently running the ACT and i really really like it. I resurfaced my stock flywheel and ran with it. It is very heavy, which i understand some do not like, but it works great for me. I'm 5'9" - 140ish, and certainly no muscle-bound athlete. If i can deal with it, anyone can. It just takes a little getting used to.
You CAN use the stock master. Anyone who says otherwise is deluded. With a stock slave cylinder, you can only displace so much fluid, and move the TOB so far. Moving more fluid would hyperextend the slave, which is why the tick is adjustable. You basically dial the pedal back until you are only moving enough fluid to release the clutch.
You DO have to measure for a slave shim (as you should with any aftermarket clutch). with stock hydraulics, my ACT was engaging right off the floor. I bought a Tick based on advice from the forum here, only to realize that i needed to shim my slave about 5mm. I left the tick in because im too lazy to take it back out, but the stock master would have worked just fine if i had shimmed properly in the first place.
Clutch fluid is (supposed to be) non-compressable. If you actually need to move more fluid to extend a stock slave cylinder the same distance, then there are other issues at work (dirty fluid, leaks, etc).
I now have a ACT T1S-G01 twin disc with light flywheel and its great, uses stock hydraulics and no need to shim it. It also has a easier pedal than my stock clutch did. For under $950 bucks the ACT handles my power just fine, releases perfectly and my left leg loves it.
My Monster stage 3.5 (they discontinued the .5 series right after I bought it) never worked right from the get go not disengaging all the way and pedal was very stiff. It did handle my power though but I never liked it.

I have the Mcleod RST and I love that thing will hold close to 1khp more then I will need and feels like stock. I did a review on it awhile back look for it using my name.
Monster Level 2 here. Haven't tried the others you are talking about but I love my Monster. I'm at 416 rwhp. Clutch dumps at the track, no problem....with sticky tires too.

Our clutches are rated at the rear wheels. You'd technically be exceeding the limits of the Level 2 with the 100shot, mainly because the nitrous hits so hard down low with bigger torque increase.
There's a difference in whether a clutch can just hold a certain amount of power and whether or not it slips when it's half engaged during a launch or between shifting gears.
If anyone has any questions about a Monster feel free to contact me.
I have a monster 3 clutch and installed a new slave cylinder along with the clutch last summer.
If you like to drive your car anywhere and get caught in a line at a traffic light you are gonna hate this clutch.
I have 500hp at the motor and need something stronger than stock. This clutch if non forgiving and takes some getting used to. It squeals every now and then and you gotta slip it to manuever the car at times.
The pedal is allot stiffer than stock.
After driving a C6 Z06 and the new Camaro, both with manual trannys, I can say they were more forgiving in driving around the city and so easy to push the pedal in too!
What I am saying is when this clutch is ready for replacment it is a no brainer I will put a dual disk unit in to regain my driveability and the Mcleod RST has my interest because (If it is true, still researching!) you get a soft pedal and increased driveablility and it will hold more hp than I have!
Maybe the Monster did not slip, but it took the most of the fun out of driving my car with its bad characteristics.
If you are only gonna race your car only, then this might be a clutch you may consider. This is just my experience and you may have a differnet take and that is fine!

You hit the nail on the head. My 02 camaro ss "squealed" also... it actually sounded like a faint turkey call. I think it's more of a cluth to abuse instead of a daily driver. I didnt know if the tick mc or the upgraded clutch made the pedal hard. Now that I have c5z06, my camaro's cluth was compared to pushing a cement block to the floor. My wife could only press it down with two feet.
