Extra HP on '01 ?
Forgive me if this has been discussed before, I searched but found nothing.
What changed on the 2001 C5's that got them 5 addtional HP from the earlier C5's.
Just curious.

The 2001's got the Z06 intake manifold, and a bigger mass airflow sensor...
those are the things that I know for sure that were changed power-wise...
The computer is different, but I don't remember what exactly was changed there...

I think the '01's got a slightly milder cam also for better midrange, but the new intake and MAF more than made up for the hp loss from the cam. I think the new cam had a little more lift as well, just slightly less duration?

Everyone who already posted is right. Cam, intake, MAF, LS6 block, blah, blah. I have 3 breathing bolt-on mods and my car runs with an '01 Z06 for less money, atleast in a straight line. :D :cheers:
