Default Electrical glitch with convertible!

2000 Convertible - When you release the top and lift up the rear of it - you then press a "button" under the hatch - that releases the hatch cover and automatically lowers the windows - so you can fold the top down into the storage area.

My "button" doesn't do anything now when it is pressed!
Hatch is not released - and windows do not go down.

So until this is fixed - I have to manually lower the windows - then release the top - and open the hatch by pulling on the "emergency" cable provided for such - before I can store the top.

My front ashtray lighter / electrical outlet does not work any more either - not sure if this is related to above or not. I had my GPS plugged in there an it doesn't work any more. However the electrical outlet in the storage area/console (under the cover) does still work.

Any help from the electrical wizards would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

The cigarette lighter is IP fuse 7. The folding top is IP fuse 17. Could also check the switch to make sure the connections are still secure, voltage is at the switch and ohm out the switch to be sure it operates correctly.
